When out in the wilderness you will most likely at some stage build a camp fire. We have found an article from Outdoor Life that will help you build something much more efficient, not only for heat but also for cooking. Building a fire pit with natural rocks is easy and you don’t even need any tools, although a shovel may come in handy if you can’t find a natural depression. With a fire pit and some natural flat stone you instantly have a place on which to fry or boil and by adding a couple of posts you can have a spit or hang a pot.

If you are here, you must love wilderness camping as much as we do. However your safety is important and even some of the most experienced campers can get into trouble when camping in the wild. We want you to have an adventurous camping trip but we also want you to have a safe one. Camping Survival is the most important aspect of any camping trip, it doesn’t matter if you are camping alone or with friends or family.
